QUEEN supports seals

Friday, September 3rd was a very special day for Lenie ’t Hart. She had been invited to the premiere of the QUEEN musical “We Will Rock You”, in the Beatrix Theatre in Utrecht. Along with hundreds of other invitees she enjoyed the fantastic show in which John Vooijs, Marjolein Teepen, Pia Douwes, Floortje Smit, Charly Luske, Paul Donkers and Rutger Le Poole sang their hearts out. For all the guests the highlight of the evening was QUEEN-guitarist Brian May’s guest-performance, who made the final song Bohemian Rhapsody a resounding success.
However, there was an extra, very special, highlight for Lenie.
Brian May and Lenie
She will tell you about that in her own words:

Lenie: “I was so lucky to be invited for the premiere of “We Will Rock You” in Utrecht; the musical with QUEEN songs. Great! What an experience! And what good vibes. However, the best moment of the evening for me was when I met Brian May, Roger Taylor and QUEEN-manager Jim Beach after the show.

We had been in contact with Jim Beach six years before about the music for our television clip. I wanted QUEEN’s song “It’s a Beautiful Day” for my television clip so badly and, believe it or not, Jim Beach did not hesitate to give us permission to use the music for our clip for free. Now, we have made a new TV- clip and again I wanted to use QUEEN’s music, this time “Love of my life”. Once more, Jim Beach donated the music rights to us.
Lenie hands a DVD to Brian May
This evening I had the opportunity to thank these Great Men personally. When I gave them a DVD with, among other things, our new clip, it turned out they already knew what we did. They said to be impressed by our work. Jim Beach said: “Just tell us what Queen-music you want. You can use everything!”
Things like this make me very humble...

I have invited them to come with us to release the seals. Especially Brian May was enthusiastic about that. Besides his music, he is very much involved in animal welfare; this is to be seen on his website. He is not a vegetarian for nothing.

SixpenceHis assistant gave me the sixpence that Brian had used that night to play his guitar in the final of the rock musical. Experts know that Brian never uses a plectrum but always a coin.
My day could not get any better!

Now all that is left is to show the new SRRC-clip on television.”
