Who is the most inspiring green Dutch person? This question was posed on the nature magazine Grasduinen’s website. The top-30 will be presented in the latest edition, compiled from 50 nominees. To our great delight, Lenie has been given seventh place.
Who inspires you to go out in nature or be better for nature? This question was presented to Grasduinen’s readers and website visitors a couple of months ago. The results of this election were published this month. Nico de Haan (“thanks to his plan to stimulate the build of hides, thousands of people enjoy bird watching”) came first, second Ivo de Wijs (“For twenty years he was the voice of Vroege Vogels (Early Birds)”), third Midas Dekkers (“Is he a writer-biologist or a biologist with a talent for writing?”) and in seventh place Lenie ‘t Hart (“She successfully combines needy seals and publicity, which benefits the seals”). Lenie is happy with this appreciation: “It is great that, by focussing attention on individual animals, we are able to help a whole population. Fantastic that I was able to inspire so many people!”
