Brilliant financial support for the SRRC from NSDH

They appeared unexpectedly: Janneke Ruiter and Harry Fillinger from the NSDH (Dutch Foundation for Animal Aid). When they heard how great the SRRC’s financial needs were, they did not hesitate one second and offered to help. From now on, for the next five years, the SRRC will be able to count on a hefty monthly contribution from the NDSH, so that all the seals in rehabilitation will actually be able to receive the help they need.

The Dutch Foundation for Animal Aid tries to support as many animal shelters and animal ambulances as possible, so that as many animals as possible will be cared for. Quite recently, the NDSH organised a large animal food campaign in aid of the foundations under its support. Now, as many as thirty-nine organisations are given monthly financial support, but they receive other kinds of help as well. For instance with car or ambulance transportation, or with project oriented support. Now, the SRRC has become one of the organisations to receive support and we are very happy about that. Because the SRRC is so well-known, people often assume that we are a wealthy organisation that will be just fine, even in times of the credit crunch. Nothing is further from the truth: The costs keep rising, while revenues from donations and gifts are dropping.

We are particularly happy with Janneke Ruiter’s comment: “The NSDH considers it a privilege to add this wonderful organisation to its list of supported organisations: Foundation Lenie ‘t Hart does excellent work and definitely deserves this support!” It is heart warming to hear such kind words spoken.

The SRRC endorses the NSDH’s principle that people need to change their mentality and become aware of the fact that our society is becoming harsher and that the social climate has become indifferent. A change in mentality would rule out much animal suffering from the onset. To inform people about animals and animal suffering, the NSDH publishes a biannual magazine “Aid to Aminals.” Supporters can choose – instead of receiving the magazine by post twice a year – to receive a digital newsletter via e-mail four times a year. The magazine, as well as the newsletter, publishes interesting, educational and informative articles about animals and also gives information about the NSDH and the organisations under its support.
