They were so ill, the seals that were brought to the SRRC in recent months. They could hardly breathe, had bloody mouths and their eyes showed only a flikker of life. Never before did we have so many sick seals at the SRRC in one go and all bursting with lungworms, which are parasites that destroy their lungs and make breathing nearly impossible. Here, at the SRRC, we are slowly but surely making them all better. As fit as a fiddle, strong and bursting with life, they regain their freedom in the sea.
In two and a half months, starting January 1st, 2009, 100 seals have already been released! And soon many more will be freed. We would have never been able to do this by ourselves, but thanks to the help of our supporters and adoptive ‘parents’ we were able to help them and release them back to sea where they enjoy a free and independent life. We do not receive any government help, so, without our supporters and adoptive ‘parents’ there would not be an SRRC. Will you help us too? Click here to find out how.
