Seppe’s capture in full swing

Seppe was able to slip through under the boats

On Tuesday, Seppe, one of the escaped seals, was seen in the Tsjonger in Mildam near Heerenveen. Naturally, we went over there right away. However, he was more difficult to catch than we had hoped! Today, with the help of boats, we tried in vain to drive Seppe towards a net that was fixed to the bottom of the water. The plan was to pull it up when Seppe swam over it. But alas, smart Seppe was able to slip through under the boats. It is possible that he even was able to slip through a net fixed under a bridge in Mildam. Through there Seppe could have carried on into the Sneekermeer (Lake of Sneek).

Of course, we still hope to catch Seppe. When we receive another report we will come into action again. We will not give up!
