Warm support from Dierenlot Foundation

The situation in the shed
A contribution from Foundation Dierenlot’s (Animal Fate) emergency fund is literally heart-warming. When the SRRC knocked on their door for help, this foundation was immediately willing to help. It was an appeal for help to insulate a shed on the SRRC site. This autumn, two sheds were placed at the SRRC; one – an insulated one – was meant for seal rehabilitation in times of extreme busyness and the second (not insulated) shed was to be used for storage of technical materials.

However, the extreme numbers of sick seals made it necessary to furnish the second shed so that it can be used for seal rehabilitation too. The technical materials have been stored elsewhere and the shed was – provisionally – equipped. But without insulation seals could not be housed in the ice-cold shed, nor could workers care for them in the cold. Thanks to the prompt support of Foundation Dierenlot and some speedy help from shed-builder Variant Loodsen, a start has already been made on insulating the shed. Soon this amenity can be used for the rehabilitation of sick seals too.
