For the last days, some baby grey seals, which were lying on the ‘Engelse Hoek’ sandbank with their mother, have been found in trouble during high tide. Because of their beautiful, white baby fur these baby seals are unable to swim well during the first three weeks of their life. Their mother nurses them on a sandbank which remains dry, until they shed their fur and are able to seek their own adventures.

Today, December 19th, one motherless young was found crawling about on Vlieland. On Terschelling there were as many as three. They have all been taken to the SRRC, where they were given their first portion of food.
Of course, you are all welcome to come and see the baby seals for yourselves during the Holidays.
