On May 31st, swim club ‘the Berkel-Enschot Water rats’ raised almost € 2500,- in a swimathon for SRRC Lenie ‘t Hart. With great interest, parents and other spectators watched 107 kids swim 2070 laps. In total, this earned them € 2.495,15, with which the children will be able to adopt five seals. The smallest children contributed to this wonderful performance with a steeplechase course and swimming. SRRC’s Marcel Siegers was there to cheer the children on and to encourage them to swim even faster. Of course, he also told them about the seals.
A colouring contest was held in the run-up to the swimathon. 74 children took part and all made beautiful coloured pictures. The winners were awarded with a cuddly SRRC seal. The winners were Anouk Reinders (2 years), Luca Levens (3 years), Milou Basters (4 years), Isa Lierop (5 years), Stijn van dongen (6 years) and Anne van Spaendonck (9 years).
The children were also allowed to think up names for their adopted seals. They came up with some great names: Spetter, Dora, Twiettwiet, Klurtie and Puk.
SRRC Lenie ‘t Hart is very grateful for the donation and cannot thank the Berkel-Enschot Water rats enough!06-10-2008 Source: SRRC Lenie 't Hart
