This year’s first baby seal was found today near the dyke at Termunten. This premature seal was only two days old and still had its umbilical cord and white fur.
It is extraordinary to find a baby seal in May; the first babies usually do not come in before June. The young animal has been named Reint and has been placed in quarantine room 7, where he can be viewed via a webcam.
