Photographer John Vos from Delfzijl, together with camera producer Olympus Netherlands and Holst Foto in Hoorn, has provided the SRRC with two amazing waterproof camera’s. Usually all seals have their photo taken on arrival. The release of rehabilitated seals is photographed as well, just as special occasions and when autopsies are carried out. In the past, many cameras have broken because they were dropped or fell in the water. The new waterproof and shockproof cameras, popular with sailors and mud-walkers, will make it much easier to make pictures under the often tricky conditions.
We are therefore very happy with John Vos’ efforts. He says, as a matter-of-fact Groninger: ‘I have much sympathy for Lenie ‘t Hart’s work and I especially applaud the plan to relocate to Delfzijl. You can see this gesture as a welcome present.’
