Successful seal-count flight grey seals

Distribution of seals over the sandbanks 1
On Friday, January 4th, 2008, SRRC-workers carried out an observation flight over the Wadden Sea. The goal was to find out how the groups of grey seals were spread out over the sandbanks and to get an idea of the number of young seals. In both respects the flight was successful: the numbers counted corresponded with the SRRC-workers' and seal first-aid volunteers' observations, which were made a couple of days earlier from ships, and the distribution of seals over the sandbanks was clearly visible from the air.
