Dorien, Anke and Anne, three ten-year-olds, decided to give a talk about the SRRC. During their preparations they read on the website about the possibility to adopt a seal. They did not have to think long: this was going to be their goal. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work. They did chores, baked cookies and other goodies to sell and did much more. And within a couple of weeks of working very hard together, they got together the necessary sum of €500,--!
The very moment that one of the mothers was on the phone to the SRRC, a young adoption seal was making its way from Schiermonnikoog to the SRRC. Naturally, this seal was to become Anke, Anne and Dorien’s adoption seal. Last weekend they came to visit ‘their’ seal and gave Lenie their hard earned money. She too, was very impressed with the perseverance shown by the children and the result of their efforts.

The girls have named their seal Sunny. They will be visiting again in a couple of weeks to see how their seal is getting along. They still have to hold their talk about the SRRC but now they have even more to talk about. Naturally, they are already looking forward to the day that they will be able to release Sunny back to sea.
