Minister Veerman has frozen his plans to abolish the Health and Welfare Act for Animals. This brings his ill-fated plan to replace the law with an Act Animal and Animal Production to a temporary close. It is now up to a following government and a new minister of Agriculture to come up with a new and improved Animal Welfare Act. SRRC Lenie 't Hart was one of the 18 animal welfare organizations, who formed the coalition 'Save the Animal Welfare Act' at the beginning of this year. Lenie 't Hart: "This is a wonderful achievement for our coalition and a clear sign that animal welfare is back in the public eye, as well as in politics."
