"Seals are better off than the children of asylum-seekers," one of the teachers at the St. Jozefschool lamented this summer in a newspaper article, after a family with three very young children in Aalten had been turned out onto the street just like that. Thanks to the school's intervention, arrangements could be made for the children to have a roof over their heads, at least for the moment. Lenie 't Hart read the newspaper article and decided to go to Aalten to tell the children that not only does she care about animals, she cares a lot about children too.

It was very busy in the St. Jozefschool’s playground; Lenie was given a special welcome, usually only reserved for people such as St. Nicolas. She met two of the children involved, and seized the moment to point out that, for her, people always come first, and that she finds the way children of asylum seekers are treated in this country totally unacceptable.

Afterwards, she spoke to different classes in the school to tell them about the SRRC’s work. The afternoon ended with the final presentation of almost €250,- , which the children had collected with refundable bottles! Lenie promised that a seal at the SRRC would be named after the two asylum-seekers’children. They are called You You and Hang Hang, so the seal will be named You Hang.
